With today’s changing climate, there is uncertainty that surrounds us. One certainty we can be sure of is the internet. Being found on the internet has been a must for entrepreneurs for some time now, but in this day and age, it is of the upmost importance. Building a brand online is not an option if you want to grow and be found by potential clients. However, building a brand cannot be a passive activity. You must have focus when building a brand online and when trying to create a presence for your business.

Let’s look at a good strategy/ action plan that any business owners can use when branding or rebranding their business.

Focus on 1 content platform and 1 communication platform

How do you decide which site to focus on? See where your particular audience you want to reach is hanging out. Are they on Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest? See where most of your followers who engage with you online are commenting, liking and commenting on your posts. You want to get your message in front of your ideal audience. Along with choosing a content platform, you want to choose a communication platform like Youtube, Clubhouse or a podcast.

Have a 3 day a week plan for being active on social media

If you only have to focus on one site, then plan to post at least 3 days a week. Social media is all about quality over quantity. You don’t have to be online everyday all day to build a strong brand. Remember, you are going all in on your platform of choice. When I say go all in, you want to use the features such as short form video, reels, stories, and go live on your platform.

Always post valuable information to your one site that you are focusing on.

When I say value, post tips and strategies one day, do a Q & A one day, give lists and “how to” or pull out your phone and do a video. In other words, your content should inform, educate,  teach, inspire and sometimes entertain. Your content should be the answer to people’s problems and the solutions to their struggles.

Social Media is only one tool-use other digital tools

Now, that you only have to focus on one site, you need to add one element from another digital tool, whether it is email marketing, blogging, podcasting or videos. Just posting to one site is a good start, but you want to make sure you are reaching people in other ways besides social media. Adding one of these tools just once a week will skyrocket your brand online.

Put the plan into action for 3 months on a consistent basis.

Now, that you have the plan to focus on one site, post once a week to the other sites, and add 1 digital marketing strategy–it is time to put the plan into action. Follow this plan on a weekly basis- 3 days a week for 3 months and measure your results along the way. If you see after these months you want to focus and g Building a brand online takes time and focus.

Social media is a must, but it can’t be the only avenue if you want to grow a brand and get more customers. Using social media along with other digital marketing strategies, and a consistent weekly plan will grow your brand in just 30 days.
