I knew I wanted to be a writer from an early age. In high school, I joined the newspaper and wrote for the paper. My love for writing continued when I started writing at UH on the university paper.
As my love for words grew, I started writing poetry, and eventually wrote a play.

The Photographer In Me..
Started my wedding photography business as a side-hustle.
Writing wasn't my only passion. I have always loved taking pictures. I studied photography in college and even learned to develop my own images in the dark room.
When digital came on the scene, I joined Professional Photographers of America, and my business took off. Being a professional photographer since 2000 has allowed me to travel, shoot and capture the most precious moments of people's lives. My husband and I own a photography and video studio in West Houston.
I started my wedding photography business in 2022 as a side-hustler.
In 7 years, I got my own studio and I shot weddings for 20 years. Then, I rebranded and became a headshot, family and brand photographer.
The Consultant/Speaker in Me...Started my Social Media and Speaking business in 2015 while being a Professor at Wharton County Jr. College.
In 2015, I decided that I needed to learn more about social media for my photography business. I wanted to teach it to my fellow photographers. So, I got certified in social media and my social media journey began right in my studio. I would teach social media to photographers. Well, it just took off from there.
Companies, chambers and even UH-SBDC asked me to start teaching it to their business owner.
Fast forward to today in 2022, now I have been through so much training and I continue to keep up with the trends. I am now a social media and branding specialist.
Social media has come a long way and so have I. I love working with my UH-SBDC clients and the many other clients that cross my path.
Retired from the College, December 22 and Registered my LLC.

I pondered and pondered leaving my nice cushion of 22 years at the college. Great pay, great schedule and many years of good times. But, I knew it was time to start living my life be design. It was time to create a life and business that I loved. I knew there would be financial and other challenges, but the thought of time freedom and lifestyle freedom won out in my mind. So, I took the leap! And I am so glad I did.
I have started something that is dear to my heart- The Women's Empowerment Society. It is not just a membership. It is a movement. As a women in leadership, working with other women in leadership is such a fulfilling thing. I get to help other women create a life and a business that they love. It is time to "Rise Up!"

I work with entrepreneurs who are ready for a shift in their mindset, life, and business with leadership and online marketing so they can create
a purposeful life and a successful business they love. I am an online marketing and leadership coach and business photographer.
I am also an author, Youtuber, and podcaster. Yes, I wear a few hats, but they fit me well.
I have been in the online marketing space since 2015 as a trainer and speaker for UH-SBDC along with other organizations.
My husband and I own a photography and video business specializing in headshots, company videos, and lifestyle photography.
I am the author of a few books, but my newest book, " Crushing Barriers: Succeeding in Life and Business" was just released this November 2023.
I am the creator of the movement, "Women's Empowerment Society," and from my bio you can tell that I love writing, training, coaching, and helping entrepreneurs like you create a business and life you love.
As a former Professor of Literature for 22 years at Wharton County Jr College, I loved that phase of my life. But, now this new phase " the live my life by my own design" phase is my mission to help you live your life by design and create a life and business you love.
As you can see, my journey to entrepreneurship started in the 11th grade and it just keeps on going.
Today, I am enjoying speaking on stages, training entrepreneurs and giving virtual trainings.
I am not the CEO/Founder of Hudson Enterprises and Consulting. I am a Brand and Online Marketing Strategist, and Leadership & Education Consultant and I am excited about the future. I don't see myself stopping anytime soon.

My Educational Background
I consider myself a lifelong learner. I hold a B.S. degree in Professional Writing and a M.S. degree in Literature both from University of Houston.
I also have my E.dS degree from Walden University.I have been a Professor of English at the college in Houston for over 22 years.
But, learning doesn't stop in the classroom or with my degrees. Learning goes on forever. As we continue to learn, we continue to grow. One secret to success is to always be learning.
My Life with
Malcolm Hudson
My home life is filled with joy and laughter as I share it with my best friend and husband, Malcolm Hudson. He is my rock and my support. Malcolm is so easy going and calm.
He keeps me balanced and focused. I am so thankful and blessed to have such a kind man by my side and having my back in all that I do.
Malcolm is the videographer of the company and he is also a certified drone pilot. He is an ex-vet who has served his country.
When we are not working, we enjoy nice, quiet evenings at home listening to music and watching movies.
My Favorite Past Times
What do I like to do in my leisure time? People ask me if I actually have leisure time.
Yes, I have learned to balance work and play. In my leisure, I enjoy reading and having a cup of coffee at a local bookstore or coffee house.
I enjoy yoga and being in nature. I love morning and evening walks. I enjoy day trips and quick get-a-ways. Most of all, I enjoy the simple things in life and the peace that they bring.
My Core Values
I like to live my life with integrity and value. Each year, I choose my words that I want to guide my life. They are my core values. They are what I stand for and my "why." My core values can be found in these three words: educate, empower, and elevate.
In 2022, whenever I show up online or send an email or do anything-- I want to make sure I do one of these three words. I am ready for 2022 and the success that awaits me this year.
My Philosophy on Life
I believe we can all carve out the life we desire. I believe that being grateful and generous has a lot to do with what comes to us.
We can create a life of joy and peace and good will as we give these things to others. I believe that what we speak and see can manifest itself in our lives and we can fulfill our destiny and our purpose here on this earth.
